Coping
Coping is the edge material between your pool and deck, helping secure your safety cover while adding a finished look. We offer two durable options:
- Aluminum Coping: Available in p-shaped, inclined, and rounded profiles- offering precision and consistency in shape and finish. This coping style is integrated with the encapsulated under track to create an aluminum-capped coping. All three profiles are available for Vinyl Liner Pools, for Fiberglass pools the rounded profile is also available.
- Reusable Concrete Coping Forms: Designed to create cantilevered or inclined coping edges, these forms are used in the deck-pouring phase of the install and are removed once the coping has formed to reveal a concrete finish. These coping forms clip to the under track encapsulation offering flexibility to customers as they can be utilized after encapsulation is installed. These coping forms can be reused between installations and all three forms are compatible with all pool types.

Common Questions About Latham Safety Covers
Automatic inground safety covers work with the help of a few key elements, specifically tracks and a small, efficient motor. Typically, on one end of the pool, there will be a sleek “roller” where the pool cover material rolls up and is stored when not in use. When the switch is activated, the motor turns on and the electric pool cover automatically rolls across the pool area with the help of two tracks on either side of the pool. These tracks can be built inside the lip of the pool for a seamless design, or lay on either side of the pool, above ground.
The cost of an automatic pool cover ranges between $10,000 to $20,000. Factors that influence the cost of your pool depend on your pool’s design and levels of customization you choose for your cover. For instance, a larger pool with a more intricate, freeform shape may be closer to $20,000. By contrast, a cover for a smaller pool or a more straightforward, rectangular shape may cost less.
Yes. Your automatic safety cover is built to hold the weight of several adults. However, we do not recommend that you walk on your cover. Walking on your cover should only be reserved for emergency situations or removing debris from your cover.
An automatic safety cover requires professional installation to ensure it works properly and conforms to all local building codes. Additionally, a licensed electrician should run all wires and make connections to the breaker box.
Automatic pool covers may be the safest pool cover option available for installation in today’s growing marketplace. Also known as “horizontal fences,” the protection provided by electric pool covers is virtually unparalleled.
Autocovers are also easy to use and fast to deploy. Simply flip a switch or press a button to roll out a protective barrier over your pool that no child, pet, or overindulgent house guest can fall through. And by connecting your touch screen to your home WiFi network, you can receive a text message or email alert to let you know when your cover has been activated or left open too long.
